Harlen House Company Program
Harlen House of Dance Company is a two-tier program which requires a certain amount of instructional hours per week based on age, ability and commitment level. We strongly encourage our dancers to be well-rounded individuals who are able to maintain, and are committed to, both school and dance requirements. We are willing to work with dancers who have outside commitments such as sports, church, drill team, etc. We are dedicated in making all scheduling and commitment expectations for this season consistent and communicated in advance and appreciate the dedication in return if your dancer has an outside commitment.
Company Program Options

Core Company dancers are expected to maintain a strong core focus of their time and energy towards their training at the studio with minimal outside conflicts due to the amount of hours required per week.

HH’s Professional Training Program (PTP) is geared towards the pre-professional student striving for a career in the professional ballet world. The focus of this program will prepare your dancer for this career path by strengthening their foundation in classical technique with an emphasis on pointe work, enhancing their knowledge of classical repertoire as well as original contemporary choreography, private coaching, and classical
ballet performances/competitions. In addition, your student will receive guidance and direction in the dance world, summer intensive application process, scholarship application assistance, resume building and a scheduled photo shoot to curate images for auditions/social media. Dancers will have access to physical therapists partnered with Harlen House who have an understanding and focus of athletes in dance, including injury prevention seminars, Pilates, and cross training.

As a PTP member, dancers are expected to train five to six days a week with ballet classes, rehearsals, private lessons to hone technical skills and prepare classical variations/contemporary solos. The best way to achieve training hours is by joining HH’s Advanced Daytime Program. Dancers will take class three mornings of the week comprised of a technique class each day, followed by pointe and/or conditioning and contemporary. These classes are in addition to their evening schedule. While the daytime program is not a requirement, it is strongly encouraged to set your dancer up for success.
Students can choose to work solely on the PTP side of Harlen House of Dance, or blend two of HH’s premier programs, PTP and Core Company. If choosing to participate with Core as well as PTP, please note that the mandatory number of dances for the Core program will be less to accommodate PTP’s competitive schedule. Dancers also have the opportunity to perform with the Assemblé Ballet Company as either an apprentice or company member in performance opportunities beyond competitions.
